How often should a café post each week?

Short answer

Three to five posts a week, with at least two short videos, plus a few stories every day. A steady rhythm you can keep beats posting daily with nothing to say.

Why rhythm matters more than volume

People follow a café for the feeling of the place: the food, the people and the little moments. Posting every day burns out your team and quickly turns into repeated photos of the same dish. A fixed weekly rhythm keeps you visible, gives every post a job, and is easy to plan a month ahead.

A simple weekly rhythm

  • Early week: a short video of your hero dish or drink being made. Close-ups, steam, the pour, the plating.
  • Midweek: behind the counter. The barista, the chef, the first batch of the morning. People like to know who makes their food.
  • Before the weekend: what's new or special this weekend. A seasonal item, a combo or an event.
  • Weekend: a customer moment. A busy table, a birthday, a regular's usual order (always ask first).
  • Every day: two or three quick stories. Today's special, the queue, the weather, a poll on tomorrow's flavour.

What makes a café post work

  • Show the food in the first second. Lead with the best frame, not your logo.
  • Film in daylight near a window. Good light does more than any filter.
  • Keep the same look: your colours, your cups, your corner of the café.
  • End with one simple next step: visit today, order on chat, book a table.

When to post

Post when people are deciding where to eat: late morning before lunch, and early evening before dinner. Your account insights show when your own followers are most active, so check them after a month and adjust.

How to know it's working

Likes are nice, but look at the numbers that bring people in: saves, shares, profile visits, map direction requests, calls and chat orders. If those grow month on month, your rhythm is working, even if likes stay flat.
